# CBD research: original studies and public health sources

FOLLOW THE EVIDENCECompare what CBD studies tested, what they found and which claims their results support.

## Ask what was actually studied.

CBD alone, a THC–CBD medicine, a cannabis extract, and a retail gummy are different interventions. A finding about one should not silently turn into a promise about another. Look for the formulation, participants, comparison group, outcome, and treatment period.

## Two examples worth a closer look.

Our [sleep guide](https://cbd.bike/guides/cbd-for-sleep/) discusses a small randomized pilot trial in which most sleep outcomes were similar between CBD and placebo. Our [safety guide](https://cbd.bike/guides/cbd-side-effects/) explains why an FDA-described randomized trial adds to the questions about liver safety. Neither paper provides a universal answer for every consumer product.

IN CONTEXTFormulation, participants and outcomeCheck the tested formulation, participants, comparator and measured endpoint before applying a finding to a claim.

## How we use these sources.

Guides link to the public health material or original study behind their specific points. Product comparison checklists are editorial tools, not clinical validation. The library launched on October 19, 2026; the date on a guide records its source check, not medical review.
